Registration for physics within Natural Sciences in 2012/13
BSc and MSci Natural Sciences
BSc and MSci Joint Honours degrees
Dates to note
- From 23 April: Signing of plagiarism forms
The University regulations require each student to sign a plagiarism declaration each year, as part of the registration process. Plagiarism forms will be distributed in selected revision lectures, to be signed and returned at the end of the lecture. It is important that the Department has your signed form before the start of the examination period.
- Monday 21 May: University's online enrolment system becomes available
- Monday 11 June: Publication of physics module information
Physics Department module information for 2012/13 will become available at http://www.dur.ac.uk/physics/modules/. Guidance on the Natural Science degrees will also be available, via the Natural Sciences web pages
- Tuesday 19 June: General consultation with tutors (optional)
- Thursday 21 June: Consultation regarding module choices (optional)
Following the publication of examination results, any Natural Scientist may seek advice on module choices from the Department's Natural Sciences Adviser, Dr Chris Maxwell (Room OC105). This is a good opportunity to obtain advice on your study choices. Please check your modules in the online registration system in advance, and ensure that you bring your campus card with you.
- Friday 22 June: Deadline for Physics module selections
All students must finalise and submit their module choices in the University's online module registration system by Friday 22 June (please remember to click on the "submit" button). Formal approval of Physics module choices will then be carried out online over the following few days.
From this date, or soon after, you will be able to begin the process of enrolment (where you check, confirm and update your personal information, and accept the University's regulations). You will also be able to begin the process of module registration (where you check the modules and programme you are studying, and choose any optional modules). You will be able to select modules, and change your mind, throughout the period until the end of term.
Any Natural Scientist who has taken Level 1 modules may make an appointment to visit his/her tutor (if applicable) on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 June for a general discussion. Students without tutors may make an appointment with the Department's Natural Sciences Adviser, Dr Chris Maxwell (Room OC105).
