Hi, I am Saleh. I joined Durham Physics Department in October 2010. My area of research is Carbon nanomaterials. I am currently working on the functionalisation of carbon nanotubes by direct substitution. Many facilities can be used for this such as Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) ion gun source, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Raman Spectroscopy (RS), Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) and Transition Electron Microscopy (TEM). This area of research is of much intense focus due to the possible applications of functionalised CNTs in sensors, fuel cells technologies, electronic devices and biomedical systems.
