How to apply

We strongly encourage applicants to submit applications as early as possible, although there is no formal deadline.

Please complete the Durham University On-Line application form, which can be found at http://www.dur.ac.uk/postgraduate/apply/  .Please indicate on the application form which of the Department’s five research sections you are interested in applying for:

• Advanced Instrumentation
• Astronomy and Astrophysics
• Atomic and Molecular Physics
• Condensed Matter Physics
• Elementary Particle Theory

You will also have the opportunity to upload your supporting documentation with your application. These should include:

References

You will need to provide the contact details of two referrees on your application form in support of your application.

It is important that the email addresses that you provide for your referees are correct at the time you submit your online application form.

The Department will contact your referees directly and ask them to complete an online form via our secure referencing system.

If your referee would like to provide a  reference letter in addition to completing the online reference form, please ask them to submit it to the email address below.
