New graduates celebrate success

New graduates and their families in the quad

The Department's graduating students and their families joined members of staff to celebrate recently. The event, which followed the Congregation ceremony in Durham Cathedral at which the degrees were conferred, was held in the Department's quadrangle garden.

This year a record number of physics degrees were awarded and the Head of Department, Professor Richard Abram, congratulated the new graduates on their success. He also presented a number of prizes for outstanding performance. The prizewinners were: Mr J Gaffney, Mr D Wilson, Mr C Williams, Mr M Theobalds, Mr A Millett-Sikking, Miss J Barnes, Mr K Beggs, Mr A Bennett, Mr S Chapman, Mr R Chatterton, Mr M Dixon.
