* School Visits to the Ogden Centre
An important aim of the project is to use the science that we do in the North East to stimulate the interest of young people and in the process raise their aspirations and awareness of higher education. To date over 1000 year 9 and 10 school students have visited the Ogden Centre to learn about the work that goes on there and about life as an undergraduate. If you would like to arrange a visit for your school, please get in touch.

* School Talks
Invited talks to GCSE and AS level school students in many schools and colleges in the region. Topics include: 'What Are We Made Of?', 'A Rough Guide to the Universe', 'Mined Over Dark Matter', 'The Life and Death of Stars' and 'Virtual Particles'.
Talks can be based on the key stage 3 and 4 requirements of the National Curriculum or be more general in nature to enrich curriculum content. If you would like to discuss any particular requirements, or arrange a talk in your school, please get in touch.

* Primary School Project
February 2003 saw the start of a pilot project for a group of gifted and talented 10-11 year olds from seven primary schools in East Cleveland. This project, organised jointly with the East Cleveland Education Action Zone, took the form of weekly workshops comprising 3 visits and 3 meetings for follow-up activities. Visits to the Physics Department, Castle Eden Planetarium and the Surface Facility at Boulby Mine took place.
Our activities with primary schools continue to grow. We are currently developing a teaching pack with funding from STFC as a KS2 resource.
