Student Finance
We believe that everyone can afford to study at Durham - we go out of our way to ensure that all students receive the financial help they need.

Durham University has an excellent financial support network. Within the Undergraduate Admissions Office is a dedicated Student Financial Support team which, working with conjunction with the International Office, the Graduate School and the Durham University Colleges, provides financial support, information and guidance to all Durham University students, home and overseas, undergraduate and postgraduate, full-time and part-time.
It is through the generous support of Alumni, Friends of the University, and parents that we are able to support students in financial difficulty and offer assistance with travel costs for extra-curricular travel, sport and societies.
The Advice Centre in the Students' Union provides a wide range of advice and information on all aspects of student life. They are especially knowledgeable in areas such as student finance, benefits and provide debt advice and counselling. College officers are also a valuable source of advice, and most banks have a student advisor on hand.
As the parent, guardian or partner of a prospective undergraduate student, you probably have a lot of questions about student finance. It tells you where to go to find more detailed information and also aims to give an impression of what is distinctive and different about the financial support we provide at Durham University.
