Congratulations to Peter Bray for winning M20E at the JK. It was a tough weekend and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, even though it was a bit of an epic.

Also further congratulations to Peter for selection for the Junior World Orienteering Champs.

Night Event In Durham

Posted on: 23/02/2012

Registration is at the top of Mountjoy in the car park that was built recently. Map. If travelling by foot please try to use main routes (pavements/roads) to get here.
See the flyer link in the news item below for more info. This event is part of the Army's orienteering league, but is open to all. People can run which ever course they find suitable, and members will be on hand to give advice. Bring a torch and compass (there will be a few available to borrow). Orienteering requires crossing any and all terrain so good shoes and full leg cover are required.

Entry fee to students is £1, otherwise £3. Starts from 18:45, or when its dark enough (contrary to flyer below)

Any queries email: a.j.poole@dur.ac.uk

Freshers 2011

Posted on: 21/08/2011

Hey if you are interested in orienteering make sure to find us at the freshers fair. Details of events will be posted on this website when they are finalised. This is just a message to let people get an idea about our club. If you found this page via facebook or have had a look around it may not seem like we are an overly active club, but this is not the case!

We usually go to an event every week, these tend to be local events in North Yorkshire and around Newcastle. But we do travel to regional events further afield to find more interesting terrain, such as the Lake District.

Training run by the club includes a weekly circuit session and a variety of runs and occasional interval sessions. Runs and intervals are usually arranged around events that we are doing and are flexible.

We wish to try to go to some more major events as a club, this year we went to the JK in Northern Ireland.
