
Skype provides our confidential instant messaging and internet calling service.
To contact us click on the Skype icon located above and follow the instructions. Our Skype name is durham.nightline. Our phone will ring as soon as you send us your first message.
For the purposes of contacting us, you will need Skype. You can download the software here (it's free). Existing users may wish to create a new Skype account.
The volunteer will be able to see the picture you are using, however will not be able to see your name after the first time you've called. We do not record any conversation histories. You are welcome to add us as a contact, we remove all identifying details of a contact when the call has ended. You can find a key below explaining our status settings.
Online
: When a Nightline volunteer is avaliable our status will be set to Online and the icon will light up green.
Away
: This means our line is busy with another caller. Please feel free to try again later, call us or visit our office.
Offline
: If the status is set to offline then you are probably online outside of our contact hours of 9pm to 7am and we are not available.
