(15 December 2005)

Dr Robert Simpson, Department of Anthropology and Deputy Dean of Social Sciences and Health, is among four academics honoured for their significant contribution to CSAP.

CSAP (Centre for Learning and Teaching in Sociology, Anthropology and Politics) is located within the University of Birmingham and is one of the national learning and teaching subject network centres. Since 1994 Robert has been closely involved with the work of CSAP, being a member of the National Network for Teaching and Learning in Anthropology, which was a precursor to CSAP and thereafter as a member of the Anthropology Reference Group and the Subject Centre Advisory Group. Along with colleagues in the Anthropology department Dr Simpson has been the recipient of two CSAP grants which resulted in a variety of teaching resources and publications, most notably Discovering Anthropology: A Resource Guide for Teachers and Students and Anthropology and Employment: A Survey of Human Sciences Graduates. The awards were presented at the annual CSAP conference by Prof Maggie Pearson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Keele.
