Obituary: Mrs Pauline Bransden

The University announces with deep regret the death of Mrs Pauline Bransden on Monday 28 November 2005.

Mrs Bransden was first appointed to the University in 1964 and over the years gained a wide variety of experience holding secretarial posts in various Departments and sections including the office of the Dean of Science and the Department of Zoology. On two occasions her service was broken by periods accompanying her husband abroad. In 1987 she was appointed as an Administrative Officer in the University of Durham Industrial Research Laboratories and later became Manager of the Mountjoy Research Centre and Co-ordinator of UDIRL. In 2001 she was appointed as Manager of the North East Centre for Scientific Enterprise, a post which she held until her early retirement in 2003. The funeral will be held at 12.00 noon on Monday 5 December 2005 at St Brandon’s Church, Brancepeth, Durham. Family flowers only.
