Durham rockets up FT business school league

(4 December 2006)

Durham Business School is celebrating a meteoric rise into the top 20 of the Financial Times newspaper’s prestigious Top European Business School rankings 2006, published today.

In just 12 months Durham Business School has shot up the FT rankings by 17 places, to enter the European Business School Top 20 in 18th place, and is 6th in the UK overall. It is the highest position the Business School has been since the rankings began three years ago. The FT’s Top European Business School list is based on its four business education rankings published throughout 2006. They are the full-time MBA rankings, enrolment and customised non-degree executive education programme rankings, the European Masters in Management ranking and the EMBA ranking. Professor Tony Antoniou, Dean of Durham Business School, said: “We are delighted with the FT results and this latest achievement underlines the quality, relevance and rigour of our programmes. We are one of the leading business schools in Europe and this latest ranking is testimony to our continued focus on achieving the highest possible standards. The FT ranking is great news for Durham Business School and good for the North East.”
