Graduate takes leap of faith

A Durham graduate is to complete her first parachute jump, despite being registered blind.

Elanor Smith, who recently completed a masters degree in Medieval History at Ustinov College, will skydive 10,000 ft in a tandem jump on Saturday 12 August. She aims to raise money for Henshaws Society for Blind People and has previously abseiled, rock climbed and completed a 100-mile canoe trip down the River Wye for the charity, She hopes to raise more than £500 with her latest adventure.
