Memorial for Stephenson College student

Alastair Beattie, a final year Stephenson College student studying Business, who sadly died on May 7th will be remembered with a permenent memorial at Queen's Campus.

Stephenson College intend to erect a tribute to Alastair in the form of a bench positioned in the shade of a two flowering cherry trees. His parents have welcomed the idea and a ceremony is being planned at which Mr and Mrs Beattie will attend, possibly towards the end of June. If anyone wishes to contribute to the memorial, donations can be given to the College Secretary, Mrs Linda Carse, in room A102, Holliday Building as from Tuesday May 30th. The college intends to use the donations received for the bench and trees, and any surplus will be donated to a local Teesside sporting foundation, following the family’s wishes. A commemorative book is also available from Mrs Carse in which anyone is welcome to write their personal memories of Alastair. Contact: Mrs Linda Carse 0191 33 40040
