Access to the Bailey will be restricted on the following days

(17 November 2005)

• Sunday 20th November 2005 between the hours of 3.30 pm and 7.00 pm to allow for the switching on of the Christmas lights.


• Saturday 3rd and Sunday the 4th December 2005. Saturday road closure 10 am – 5.30 pm, Sunday 10 am – 5.30 pm.

This is due to the Christmas market on Palace Green.

There will be no access onto the Bailey via the Market place. The Dean & Chapter will open the White Gates (Prebends Bridge), so essential access & egress is available.

The Estates & Buildings Department will provide temporary permits to allow essential staff on and off the Bailey which will be checked by a member of Dean & Chapter staff. If anyone needs a permit and does not have one please contact the Reception in the Estates and Buildings Department who issue such permits.
