Student website beating off the competition

The National Union of Students UK and the Daily Mirror have announced the National Student Journalism Awards 2005 shortlist - and for the fifth consecutive year, durham21 has beaten off stern competition from a record number of entries to make the shortlist of five for the Best Student Website award!

Having won the award outright in 2001, 2002 and 2003 – the first three years of the site’s existence – durham21 will now go head-to-head with 2004 victors The Warwick Boar as well as Sheffield Base, UniBalls and Pi Magazine.

Monday’s announcement also sees durham21’s Going Out editor Chris Prior nominated for the Best Student Critic shortlist of five, a fine accomplishment. The overall winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony on November 12th at the Marriot Hotel in West India Quay. http://www.durham21.co.uk/
