Clearing hotlines go live at Durham University

(8 August 2005)

Admissions staff at Durham University are all geared up for the rush of applications and enquiries expected following the publication of A-level results on Thursday 18th August.

Every year hundreds of students contact the University after they have received their results. The continuing popularity of Durham University means that pressure for places remains high and that the number of vacancies is very small.

Matthew Andrews, Head of Undergraduate Admissions said: “We encourage applicants to call early to avoid disappointment as we only have a small number of places available which are based at our Queen’s Campus in Stockton. Our trained staff will discuss the options with the applicants and guide them through the process of applying for a place.”

Special clearing hotlines have been set up and will be open from 8am on Thursday 18th August.

The numbers are: Clearing Hotline: 0191 334 0740 Biomedical Sciences: 0191 334 0742 Business Finance and Business: 0191 334 0741 Human Sciences: 0191 334 0744 Foundation Programme: 0191 334 0745 International students clearing enquiries: 0191 334 0045
