The rock detective
(20 May 2005)
Become a rock detective and join Dr Dougal Jerram in discovering how simple observations and measurements can unravel a history of geological events and landscape developments over millions of years.
Dr Jerram will be giving this free public lecture on Wednesday 25 May 2005, which forms part of the events of Northern Rocks, the two-week North Pennines Festival of Geology and Landscape.
The talk involves a ‘rock clinic’ in which student members of the Arthur Holmes Geological Society will be on hand to identify the rocks, fossils and minerals that you bring along.
This event, which takes place in Teaching Room 4 on the second floor of the Earth Sciences Building at Durham University from 7pm until 9 pm is one of 60 events in the festival that celebrates European Geoparks Week.
