Successful Mercy Ships Appeal

Members of the University donated 2,000 books to a recent appeal on behalf of the Mercy Ships charity.

Organiser Barry Woodward said the response had been excellent. He thanked all donors and especially Pr. John Major of the Physics Dept. who ran the collection point at Elvet Methodist Church.

The books will be used to set up a library on the MV Africa Mercy hospital ship which is currently undergoing a refit in the Tyne and is due to sail late summer 2005.
