Dr R A Barton: Phylogeny of Sleep - National Institutes of Health £128,831.58
“The National Institutes of Health have awarded one million dollars to Robert Barton (Department of Anthropology) and colleagues in Boston and California for a new study on the evolution of sleep. The three-year study will examine why sleep varies so much across different species of vertebrates, and aims to discover the evolutionary functions of particular sleep states such as rapid eye-movement sleep”
