Coverage OK! Seals the Deal
(7 February 2005)
What was already thought of as a complete success has now been confirmed worldwide with coverage in OK! Magazine.
On the evenings of 8 and 9 and 10 November 2004, Durham’s Gala Theatre was in full swing with the charity fashion show organised by Durham university students. The event raised over £8,000 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, for which it was organised. The show consisted of a series of walks, each one by different designer over the three nights, all climaxing on the final VIP Gala Night. The brands showcased include big names such as Thomas Pink, Joseph, Lucy Welsh and French Connection. Some very generous donations were made in aid of the final night auction, which added greatly to the overall total of money raised. An Alexander McQueen dress and a Jack Vetrriano silk print each bringing in £400. The stage is set for the success to be repeated in November this year, when students will once again be taking to the catwalk. This year money will be raised for the Ben Hollioake Fund and the main sponsors will be Deloitte and Touche. Press officer Katherine Cocke is delighted with the show’s achievement. “The show has certainly become a feature in the University calendar”. One to watch out for!
