Business School flies the flag for Business Excellence In Europe

(3 February 2005)

Durham Business School has been accepted as a member of the European Foundation for Quality Management.

Membership of the Foundation, which aims to spread management excellence across organisations of all types, will allow the School to fly the flag for business excellence in the region.

Commenting on the accreditation, Professor Tony Antoniou, dean at Durham Business School, said: “I am proud to announce this new accreditation which clearly signals that the Business School not only teaches good business management but also practices it too. “Membership will enable us to extend and strengthen our links with the commercial sector and at the same time, showcase examples of best practice from the region on the European stage. “I have no doubt that the individuals and companies which work with us will also benefit from this move. Our membership will provide them with interesting case studies and contacts to enhance their learning and take back into their own organisations.”

Membership comes in the same year as Durham Business School celebrates its 40th anniversary.

EFQM has more than 700 member organisations based in more than 50 countries worldwide. Members are large, medium and small sized businesses.

Issued on behalf of Durham Business School by Bradley O’Mahoney Public Relations.
