New Campus Manager and Bursar at Queen’s Campus, Stockton

David Fionda has taken up his post as the new Campus Manager and Bursar at the University of Durham, Queen’s Campus, Stockton.

David, who is a qualified accountant, joins the University staff after a varied career in the private sector including spells in the steel, tobacco, construction and engineering industries before joining the County Durham Training and Enterprise Council as Finance Director from 1991-2001.

More recently he held a similar post with Business Link Tyne and Wear. He takes over from John Bancroft who retired at the end of the Michaelmas term.

Middlesbrough-born David now lives in Hutton Rudby in North Yorkshire. He said :”John Bancroft will be a hard act to follow, but I am aware that I am joining Durham University at a very exciting time and I am looking forward to the many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with the ongoing development of Queen’s Campus.”

David’s daughter Amy is in her first year at Queen’s Campus on a Primary Education degree course and is a member of George Stephenson College.
