Public Health Research & Action Collaborative Launch Event

All refreshments and registration are in the Street. Presentations will take place in the Wolfson Seminar Room, F009. These are both located on the ground floor of the Wolfson Research Institute.

9:30 Introduction “What is the Public Health Research & Action Collaborative?”
Speakers: Professor David Hunter, Professor of Health Policy and Management, University of Durham and Dr David Walker, Director of Public Health Co Durham & Tees Valley Strategic Health Authority.

Examples of collaboration or identifying the opportunities for joint research.
A series of three joint presentations followed by a question and answer session.

9:50 “Different Approaches to Analysing Public Health Data”
Speakers: Dr David Walker and Dr Christine Dunn, Senior Lecturer, Department of Geography, University of Durham

10:20 “Theory and Practice: some public health datasets in need of interpretation, some anthropological theories in need of data”
Speakers: Dr Andrew Russell, Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, University of Durham and Dr Ken Snider, Director of the County Durham and Tees Valley Public Health Network
