Gold award for student

Durham student, Jennifer Hudson, was among 900 achievers who received their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award from Prince Philip in a ceremony at St James’ Palace.

Jennifer is studying for a BA in Combined Arts at the University of Durham, specialising in French and German. She undertook a wide variety of challenges to receive her award, including fundraising for the charity Send a Cow to send livestock out to an East African community, gaining her Grade 7 piano, and working with mentally disabled adults in France. Jennifer got involved with the award scheme through school, starting her bronze award when she was 15.
