University of Durham Business Plan Competition

There has been an overwhelming response to the University's first Business Plan Competition. At 5pm on Friday 30 January, the closing date for entries, there were 59 applications into the first round of the competition.

The judging panel, chaired by Professor Brian Tanner, are hard at work drawing up a list of semi-finalists who will then go onto the next phase of the event. All the prize winners will be announced in May and the winner of the Durham Competition will be entered into the regional finals competing head to head with the Universities of Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside.

The Grand Final will take place on 21 October 2004 at the Copthorne Hotel on Newcastle Quayside.
