WIN achieves Flagship award

(26 November 2003)

Women Into the Network (WIN), has been recognised as providing a 'Flagship' level of support to women's enterprise development by PROWESS, the national women's enterprise support trade association.

WIN was assessed against 13 distinct standards of excellence designed to measure inclusion, equality, client focus and quality in the provision of support. In achieving the 'Flagship' standard the organisation is one of only two in the UK recognised as achieving the highest possible levels in all these areas.

Women Into the Network is facilitated by the University of Durham. The twin aims of WIN are to integrate women into existing and new business networks and to bridge the gap between the extensive provision of business and professional support available. Initially concentrated in the North-East region, WIN is now working in partnership with a number of leading agencies operating at the cutting edge of women’s enterprise development, spanning the English regions to form AWE (Accelerating Women’s Enterprise).

Lisa Vickers of WIN said “We are delighted to receive this award. WIN is going from success to success receiving awards both nationally and internationally.”
