Outstanding performance in Head of the River race
(17 March 2003)
Durham's women's eight rowed in the Head of the river race this weekend in London. Durham finished 9th out of 300 crews.
Durham were beaten by five international crews including two senior GB eights, two composite club eights and the Oxford boat race crew who are peaking for the boat race in three weeks time - our season is geared to Henley in June.
This is arguably the best result in the history of women's rowing at Durham - a great achievement for the crew and for their rowing coaches, in particular Emma Hall-Craggs.
