Health Workers awarded

Lady Ann Calman presented awards to health workers from the Durham and Chester-le Street Primary Care Trust at a ceremony held at John Snow House on the University's science park.

Seven healthcare assistants completed a ten-month course run by Huddersfield University, covering subjects including health promotion, infection control and carrying out out patient investigations. The remaining award receipients completed a two-day intensive programme in medical terminology, covering language and abbreviations they may encounter in their work.

Lady Calman is chairwoman of Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trust.
