John Hogan moving on to Newcastle

Dr John Hogan, Registrar and Secretary of the University of Durham, is moving on to become Registrar of the University of Newcastle later this year.

Durham's Vice-Chancellor, Sir Kenneth Calman, said: "John Hogan has done an outstanding job for the University. He has been extremely hardworking and a good colleague. His departure will be a great loss for Durham but we all wish him every success in his new role at Newcastle. Our two universities have their roots in a common history and will continue to work together through the various partnerships in higher education in the region."

Dr Hogan has been Registrar & Secretary since 1999.He joined the University of Durham as Academic Registrar in 1993 from the University of Warwick where he had spent some six years in administration.

He takes up his new appointment in September.
