£50,000 award for Durham lecturer

(24 May 2002)

Dr Pamela Knights (English Studies) has been awarded a £50,000 fellowship from the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme.

The scheme, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland, is designed to recognise excellence in university teaching. Pamela teaches across a wide range of undergraduate courses with particular responsibility for American Fiction and Children's Fiction. The grant will go to fund her project TRAC (Textual Reflection: from Adult to Child) which will look at integrating students' learning throughout their years in education and how they can keep a sense of continuity.
