Shildon-based Pressed Steel Products Ltd had a KTP with Durham University that ended in 2004 and has reached the finals of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Awards. There are eight finalists from the 400 KTPs that ended in 2004 with three major awards to be announced. The ceremony will take place at The Savoy Hotel in London on 28 March 2006, a date chosen to coincide with the 30th anniversary of KTP and its predecessor Teaching Company Scheme. Tamer Qaqish, the former KTP Associate is still working with the company and is studying for a PhD here in Durham.
