Student missing from home
(9 January 2006)
Durham Police have issued an appeal to help trace a student who hasn’t been seen since he left his home on the outskirts of Chester-le-Street a week ago.
The family of Bruce Carlyon have become increasingly concerned since he went missing from his home in Bradley Close, Urpeth Grange in the early hours of last Monday morning, 2nd January. His parents heard him leaving but have heard nothing from Bruce. After a couple of days they alerted police. Attempts by both family and friends to reach him on his mobile phone have drawn a blank. Mr Carlyon, who is 27-years-old, is a student at Durham University where he is training to be a teacher on a PGCE Secondary course. Police said he had left some medication at home. He is five feet seven inches tall, with short, fair hair and blue eyes. When he left the house it’s thought he may have been wearing a Red Herring grey t-shirt with long black sleeves, blue jeans and a black hooded top, also maybe a silver chain showing a pair of angels’ wings. Mr Carlyon is being urged to contact his family or, if he would prefer, to ring the police to confirm he is safe and well. Anyone else who may know where he is should contact Chester-le-Street police on the force’s non-emergency number, 0845 60 60 365.
