Gift agreement secures scholarship's future

(15 May 2012)

Durham alumnus Dr David Ellis, has once more demonstrated his support of Durham Business School and its students by signing a generous gift agreement which will secure funding for the School's F D Ellis MBA Scholarship for the next 10 years.

Dr Ellis, a leading international economics expert and a managing director at top London business advisory firm FTI’s Economic Consulting practice, is a former Durham University student.

The Scholarship, set up in 2008, is named in memory of his father. Speaking on the inspiration behind it Dr Ellis said: "My father was a self-made man who went straight into work in the days when boys at the age of 15 were called to do so. He built up and ran his own business and I feel I learned a great deal from him and his hard-working ethic."

The recent gift-signing ceremony acknowledged both Durham Business School's and Durham University's appreciation of David's support.
