References for Natural Sciences students

As a result of spreading themsleves across departments, Natural Sciences students do not always find it easy to identify referees. This page makes some suggestions and there is further notes in DUO.

If you have undertaken a project or dissertation might like to use your supervisor. The supervisor will know your work and will be able to comment on it in a reference. You may well also have tutors in your departments who may also be familiar with the your abilities. There is also a Natural Sciences advisor in each department who may be able to help. Some departments (e.g. Maths) have an advisor or personal tutor for each Natural Science student who may be willing to act as a referee. You may also have a College Tutor.

The Deputy Head of Faculty is happy to write references for any Natural Sciences student. It would be helpful if you could email him a copy of your cv or drop in a photocopy of a completed application form.
