WORLD PREMIERE of 'Encounters in the Republic of Heaven' by Trevor Wishart

Encounters is an 8-channel sound-surround piece based on speaking voices recorded in the North East of England by Trevor Wishart, who was A.C.E. Composer-in-Residence from October 1st, 2006 to September 2009, based at the Music Department - Durham University.
Everyday stories told by adults and children from around the North East, brought together with technological sound transformations. This fantastic sound experience includes a sea of human voices creating the sound of the wind, speech that waltzes, speech that harmonises, clouds of speech which circle around the audience and speech that transforms into song.
