British Academy
Full details of funding offered by the British Academy can be found here. A number of its popular schemes, including the Small Research Grant scheme, the Conference Support scheme and the Overseas Conference Grant scheme, are currently suspended. A limited range of specialist funding, including the UK-Latin America/Caribbean Link scheme, is still available.
The British Academy also runs two Fellowship schemes:
- Mid-Career Fellowships (deadline TBC, expected to be Autumn). Includes an element of public engagement as part of its remit, as well as targeted support for modern languages. Open to applicants within 15 years of the award of a PhD
- Senior Research Fellowships (deadline usually November). Support provided for mid-career scholars in the form of one year's research leave. Seven fellowships were available in 2010.
Applications to Mid-Career and Senior Research Fellowship schemes are subject to early-stage peer review (submission of outline proposal no later than four months prior to the scheme deadline).
