Italian Listening and Reading Comprehension
Co-requisite: Italian Language 1B [ITAL1021]
About this module
Listening comprehension component: students listen to pre-recorded material, usually conversations, and are asked to carry out a variety of relevant activities. Reading Comprehension component: students are given articles from the Italian press and are required to answer specific questions about them. By the end of this course students should have developed a high standard of understanding in both the spoken and written language. It is expected also that they would develop an awareness and appreciation of the Italian culture.
Teaching and Learning
This module is taught by means of two hours weekly. You are required to attend all classes. The course is taught both in English and in Italian. This module is capped at 60.
Summative Assessment
- Listening Comprehension: a one-hour examination to test listening skills (50%)
- Reading Comprehension: a two-hour examination to test reading skills (50%)
