Co-requisite: Italian Listening and Reading Comprehension [ITAL1051]
About this module
This is a fast-paced module for proven linguists, aiming to bring beginners up to A Level competence by the end of the year. By the end of this module you should have a basic knowledge of the Italian grammar and acquired language skills in Italian to enable you to use it in a variety of different settings. You should also be able to conduct a simple conversation in Italian.
Teaching and Learning
This module is taught by means of three hours weekly for the teaching and practice of essential grammatical structures and oral practice. You are required to attend all lectures and are expected to prepare yourself for classes and participate actively in discussions. Attendance will be monitored in all teaching sessions. This module is taught in both English and Italian. This module is capped at 60.
Summative Assessment
- Two-hour written examination (75%)
- 10-minute oral examination (25%)
