The aim of this paper is to present support for the position that Agreement, unlike Tense, does not exist as an independent functional projection. We show how agreement phenomenon can be accounted for by Emonds’ (1987, 2000) principle of
‘Alternative Realization’, without recourse to an AgrP (or AgrSP, AgrOP, AgrIOP).
