If you arrive in Durham early, and are looking for a local venue to meet up with other delegates for a drink - we have arranged for the Undercroft Bar at Durham Castle to be open from 8 pm.

Drinks Reception & Conference Dinner

On Thursday, 5th January 2011, a drinks reception will be held at 7.30 pm in the Senate Room, Durham Castle. This will be followed by the Conference Dinner which will take place in The Great Hall, Durham Castle, starting at 8.15 pm.

Details of the dinner are below:

Starters:
Roasted Butternut Squash & Crème Frâichè Soup with Crusty Roll (v)
OR
Leek & Stilton Tart (v)

Main Course:
Pan Seared Breast of Chicken with Dauphinoise potato, truffled green cabbage, artichoke and grilled asparagus and grain mustard sauce
OR
Tian of Char Grilled Vegetables with a Goats Cheese Gratin & a Plum Roasted Tomato & Basil sauce (v)

Desserts:
Force Rhubarb Crumble with Gingerbread Ice cream
OR
Fresh Fruit Platter with Gingerbread Ice cream

Before the Drinks Reception, we will be organising a tour of Durham Castle. We ask tour participants to donate the sum of £3.00 per head which goes to DUCK (the Durham University Charities Kommittee).  Last year these tours raised almost £300.00 for good causes.  The tour is limited to a maximum of 35 people.   Please book at Conference Reception on the Thursday.
