Summer Vacation 2013

Vacation opening hours

Bill Bryson Library vacation opening hours will operate from Saturday 1 June 2013.

Queen’s Campus Library and Leazes Road Library vacation opening hours will operate from Saturday 22 June 2013.

Vacation borrowing

  • Vacation borrowing works in exactly the same way as term-time borrowing - loan periods do not alter.
  • Remember that standard loan periods will remain at three weeks for undergraduates and these items will need to be renewed a number of times during the vacation period.
  • If you are spending the summer away from the North East, think carefully about borrowing 3 day loan items as these will need to be renewed every three days. It should not be presumed that they can be borrowed for longer.
  • Items can be renewed up to 10 times only if the item is not recalled. After this point, the item will begin to accrue fines and will need to be returned to the Library.

For full information about borrowing during the Summer vacation, visit our Vacation Periods webpage.

Information for finalists

As we approach the end of the Easter term, items borrowed by undergraduates completing their studies this academic year must be returned by Wednesday 12 June 2013. Queen's Campus Education finalists are able to borrow books until Friday 21 June 2013, to take into account their teaching placements. All Library books must be returned and all outstanding Library charges must be paid before you will be eligible to graduate.
