The Image Databases page links to sites offering images and video clips which may support teaching and research in Durham University.

A number of image collections particularly useful for Medical Sciences are listed below. Do remember that copyright exists for images as well as written texts. Unless stated otherwise you will need to request the orginiator's permission to reproduce an image:


HONmedia a repository of over 6800 medical images and videos.
JISC MediaHub  an academic multimedia platform offering access to free-at-the-point-of-use images, video and audio content licensed for educational and research use. Choose the UK Federation option to login with your Durham username and password.
Wellcome Images includes the Biomedical Collection which holds over 40 000 high-quality images from the clinical and biomedical sciences. Selected from the UK's leading teaching hospitals and research institutions, it covers disease, surgery, general healthcare, sciences from genetics to neuroscience including the full range of imaging techniques.
