Law reports

Once legislation is in force it it tested and interpreted through the court system. These interpretations of legislation are recorded in law reports.

UK Law Reports

Law reports can be located by a keyword search of journals on the Library catalogue. This will direct you to the printed series in Palace Green Library or to electronic copies available on Lexis Library and Westlaw UK.

Before 1865 several legal firms produced series of law reports. These have been consolidated and reprinted in the English Reports.

Non-UK Law Reports

Lexis Library and Westlaw UK provide access to many non-UK law reports.

HUDOC is the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, the European Commission of Human Rights and the Committee of Ministers.  The judgments, decisions, resolutions and reports of these bodies are held in a database and can be consulted via a sophisticated search screen.
