Pamphlet
A thin book with a very few pages. Pamphlets are kept in one of the Library stores and can be requested using the Store request form. Shelfmarks for pamphlets has the prefix Pam, e.g. Pam 913.018 ADD

Peer review
A peer reviewed journal consists of articles that have been reviewed by a panel of subject experts before they are approved for publication. Peer Reviewed journals are also known as refereed or scholarly journals.

Plagiarism
Unacknowledged quotation or close paraphrasing of other people's writing, amounting to the presentation of other person's thoughts or writings as one's own. The University treats this as a form of cheating and it is subject to disciplinary procedures.

Primary sources
Primary sources are directly related to an issue or event. Therefore, it is highly desirable that researchers access as many relevant primary sources as possible. However, keep in mind that every text has potential for bias or some hidden agenda. As a consequence, even a "private" diary or allegedly "factual" account can have misrepresentations of events.
