Leazes Road Library

Overview and completed work
During 2011-2012, work began to co-locate the Education Library and Hild Bede College Library collections. During summer 2012, refurbishment work took place at the Leazes Road Library to create new study areas and modernise existing facilities. Staff areas were reduced and the Help and Information desk has been moved to face the Library entrance. The Leazes Road Library staff office and Room 4, which previously housed audio visual equipment, have become bookable group study rooms.
The Education Journal collections have been moved from Room 8 on the first floor of the Leazes Road Library down to the ground floor, close to the entrance. Room 8 is now a dedicated study space for taught and research postgraduates.
The Hild Bede College Library collection moved to the School of Education in September 2012 and the Education Library was renamed the Leazes Road Library ahead of the 2012-2013 academic year.
Easter Vacation 2013
During the 2013 Easter Vacation 2013, work is taking place at the Leazes Road Library to refurbish Rooms 4, 5 and 6 on the ground floor of the Library. These rooms will be unavailable during the Easter Vacation, along with the Leazes Road Library's group study rooms.
All books housed in these areas have been moved into other areas of the Library during this work, so access to the collections is unaffected. Please ask Library staff for help if you have difficulties finding the books you need.
During the refurbishment work, there may be some noise disruption and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
