Queen's Campus Library service levels

During 24/7 opening hours, three different service levels will operate at Queen's Campus Library:

Full service hours will operate from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00. All Library services are available during these hours.

Evening and weekend staffed periods will be in operation between 17:00 - 00:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 - 22:00 Saturday to Sunday. During these hours, Library staff can help you with a range of queries and most services are available. Till services are available until 8pm, Monday - Friday and between 2-6pm, Saturday - Sunday.

Self-service hours will operate between 00:00 - 09:00 Monday to Friday and between 22:00 - 10:00 Saturday to Sunday. During self-service hours staffed services will be unavailable. Overnight, the Library will be manned by security staff who are unable to answer circulation queries or check patron records. Library 24/7: Borrowing

Laptops and study room keys will be available for collection during full service hours and evening and weekend service hours. Laptops and study room keys must be returned to the Help and Information desk 30 minutes before self service hours begin (23:30 from Monday to Friday and 21:30 on Saturday and Sunday).

The Short Loan collection will be available throughout the 24/7 period at Queen's Campus Library and will adhere to normal term-time borrowing rules. See our page on Short Loan items for more details.

Reserved items will be available for collection at all times from the Help and Information desk. For further information on reserving items, click here.

Document delivery items will be available for collection during staffed hours only. The return times for confined document delivery items will not change during the 24/7 opening period and will be due for return at 19:30 Monday to Friday and 17:30 Saturday to Sunday. Queen's Campus Library noise zones map

Changes to Noise Zones: Shhhh...

During the Easter term, the noise zones at Queen’s Campus Library are changing.

When you come into the Library and turn right, you’re entering the Silent Zone, which includes the main PC cluster and runs to the back of the Library.

If you come into the Library and turn left, you’re entering the Quiet Zone. Please speak quietly and keep conversations to a minimum.

The Group Zone will be in D222, which you should use if you need to talk to friends or work on a group project.

During the Easter term, Library Support Assistants will be monitoring study areas at Queen's Campus Library. They may ask you to move to a different zone if you are disturbing other students in the Silent and Quiet Zones.

Café Aroma

During Library 24/7, Café Aroma (situated on the ground floor of the Ebsworth Building) will offer extended opening hours so you can purchase food and drink items and take a break from studying:

Saturday - Sunday 11:30 - 18:30

During other times, Café Aroma will be open 24/7 for students to consume their own food and drink. Please note that a No Food and Drink policy is in operation at Queen's Campus Library.
