Strategy 1. Developing, monitoring and reviewing undergraduate education strategy across the Faculty. Governance 2. Chairing the Faculty Education Committee (Undergraduate), which normally meets at least once a term. 3. Representing the Faculty on the University's Education Committee. Programme and module approval 4. Representing the Faculty on panels considering proposals to establish new undergraduate and integrated master's programmes of study, and new collaborative partnerships involving undergraduate and integrated masters provision. 5. Considering proposals from departments within the Faculty to establish (in relation to undergraduate and integrated master's provision) new modules, withdraw existing modules, and to amend existing programmes or modules, and deciding whether to take action on behalf of Faculty Education Committee (Undergraduate) to approve these proposals. Monitoring and review 6. Serving on teams carrying out periodic reviews for departments within the Faculty (except for reviews of the postholder's own department). 7. Chairing the Faculty Periodic Review and Accreditation Panel that considers all reports on periodic reviews and external accreditation processes for departments/schools within the faculty. 8. Chairing meetings of the Faculty Collaborative Provision Panels considering undergraduate and integrated master's programmes, ensuring that effective annual monitoring is taking place of collaborative partnerships based in the Faculty. 9. Considering departmental reports of annual reviews of taught programmes as they relate to undergraduate and integrated master's programmes, ensuring that issues identified in these reports are addressed and preparing a faculty overview of these reports for consideration by Faculty Education Committees and Quality and Standards Sub-Committee. 10. Working with departments to support the consideration of data from the National Student Survey, ensuring that issues identified in by the NSS are addressed and preparing a faculty overview of departmental/school action plans in response to the NSS for consideration by Faculty Education Committee (Undergraduate) and Education Committee. Assessment 11. Considering departmental nominations for the appointment of external and internal examiners for undergraduate and integrated masters programmes, and making recommendations to Education Committee for the appointment of external examiners. 12. Considering external examiner reports for undergraduate and integrated masters programmes within the Faculty, ensuring that all issues raised by external examiners are addressed (including responding on behalf of the University when external examiners raise issues of University policy) and preparing a faculty overview of these reports for consideration by Faculty Education Committee (Undergraduate), and Quality and Standards Sub-Committee. 13. Considering the minutes of all boards of examiners and integrated master's programmes in the Faculty, ensuring that issues identified in these minutes are addressed and preparing a faculty overview of these reports for consideration by Faculty Education Committee (Undergraduate), and Quality and Standards Sub-Committee. Student progress 14. Considering on behalf of the Faculty concession requests relating to undergraduate and integrated master's students. |
