Biography

Jonathan Dodds graduated with an LLB from the University of Durham in July 2010 (Upper Second Class Honours). Jonathan returned to Durham in October 2010 to undertake the Master of Jurisprudence research degree.

Current Research

Under the supervision of Prof. Michael Schmitt and Prof. Ian Leigh, Jonathan's research focuses on the CIA extraordinary rendition programme. Specifically, his research will consider the liability European states face for their complicity and, occasionally active participation in the programme.

His research will primarily consider the liability imposed through the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as highlighting the impact of the UN Convention against Torture, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Geneva Conventions on European states.
