Biography

Mr. Jingxiao Cui graduated with a LLB from China University of Political Science and Law in 2007. He came to Durham University to study the LLM program in 2008. Then, due to his interest in corporate governance, he continued to study in Durham as a PhD candidate in 2009 under the supervision of Professor Roman Tomastic and Mr. Chris Riley.

Current Research

Jingxiao's research focuses on the ownership reform of China's state-owned enterprises. Under current SOE's ownership structure, some noticeable problems exist in China's corporate governance system such as obscuring role of regulation authority, split-share structure, connected transaction, and minority shareholder protection. Ownership reform will help to resolve these challenges. The results of the study are expected to provide an optimal structure of China's SOEs ownership and improve the effectiveness of corporate governance.
