Biography

Shuang MA graduated from University of Manchester with a LL.M degree in 2006. He went to Durham Law School in September 2008 as a research candidate working towards the PhD degree (Doctor of Philosophy).

Current Research

Under the supervision of Professor Roman Tomasic and Mr. Chris Riley, Shuang’s current research explores the corporate governance of China’s overseas-listed companies. The main focus of his research will be on the relationship between overseas listing (or cross listing) and corporate governance of China’s companies. Particularly, his research will document how far political factors will determine the nature of corporate governance in China’s listed companies as well as the aspects of corporate governance that have been improved in the process of foreign listing. Moreover, an on-site survey using a semi-structured interview-questionnaire approach with selected listed companies will be conducted in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
